Farm Stand Staff
We are seeking staff for our farm stands in Dracut and Tewksbury. These are seasonal positions, and we are seeking people who:
- Are friendly and have excellent customer service ability
- Are passionate about local food and sustainable agriculture
- Have a working knowledge of fruits and vegetables.
- Have a working knowledge of ornamental plants (highly preferred)
- Are motivated, energetic, positive, outgoing, and flexible.
- Are available from early May through October
- Are available 30-40 hours per week, 4-6 days per week, mid-morning through late afternoon / early evening.
- Willing to work long hours.
- Have a current drivers license and are willing to drive a small box truck
- Can lift 50 pounds
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and enjoy working independently.
The successful candidate will perform the following duties:
- Load box truck and drive to farm stand locations in Dracut and Tewksbury.
- Unload produce and boxed shares off truck
- Setting up and displaying produce and signage on tables at farm stands
- Breaking down display at the end of the shift and loading all items back onto truck.
- Greeting and assisting farm stand customers, sharing information about produce and the farm.
- Operate cash register
- Maintaining weekly records and inventories
- Occasional meetings at the farm
- Other duties as assigned.

Worktrade Opportunities
Interested in getting more involved in the CSA and getting a CSA share in exchange for your work?
We are looking to fill work-trade CSA distribution positions for the 2012 CSA season in Malden, Boston Medical Center, and Reading. Other pick-up locations may have openings, depending on staffing needs.
Responsibilities: Work trade responsibilities average around 70 hours over the course of the season (mid-June through late October). Individuals will help out with all aspects of CSA distribution on a specific location’s pick-up day and time.
CSA Distribution
- Setting up and/or breaking down the distribution area at the CSA distribution site
- Setting up check-in table, chairs, and other equipment as needed
- Unloading produce and boxed shares off truck and counting shares
- Displaying produce and signage on tables
- Loading empty crates onto truck
- Storing returned, empty crates after CSA distribution
- Putting away table, chairs, and consolidating unclaimed shares to be donated
- Greeting CSA members, sharing information regarding “What’s in your Share†this week
- Maintaining weekly records
- Receiving and recording payments (minimal)
- Occasional meetings
Qualifications:
- Ability to maintain good communication with the farm
- Ability to lift 30lbs easily and frequently. Ability to lift 50 pounds or more is a plus.
- Good organizational skills
- A friendly, open personality and willingness to engage with CSA members
- Dependable and reliable
What do I get? In exchange for your work, you will receive a “regular”-sized vegetable share and fruit share from our CSA.
